After spending what felt like an eternity (well, for some players) cradled in a black hole, Fortnite has returned with Chapter 2 and a whole new world to play in. And what's more, now you can do it with boats!
We previously published a guide describing where you can find these luxury water vehicles in the world. There are over 20 locations to choose from, depending on where you are on the map. But why do you just drive on water? You can take these things on earth.
This quick guide explains how to take boats ashore, in case you want to drive. But be aware that there is a price to be paid in the process.
Get your boat on land
To drive your boat on a land surface, find a place in the area where you can exit the water. The incline will have to be decent, otherwise you will hit something and stop in your tracks. In addition, you can use your boat's booster to accelerate. You'll be riding a boat on land rather slowly, but activate those boosters and you'll speed up a bit! Save it for when you need it, like when you want to help a teammate.
Riding a boat on land is pretty rad. However, you will need to keep an eye out for something.
Watch your damage
You are not supposed to be driving the boat on land. I mean, if that was the case, wouldn't we be leading them all? Well, not in winter.
If you choose to be a land owner with your Fortnite watercraft, that's fine and dandy. However, since it is not a land vehicle, it will take damage. There is a total of 1 damage per second while driving on dry land and eventually it will wear out and explode. Make the most of your commute for you and your friends, get to where you need to go, then get out before it happens.
Keep in mind that if you lose a boat in the game, there is more than enough left to go around. Just visit one of the places highlighted in our previous guide and get back to ground driving. Because, you know, you're in a boat.
