How to fish and get a fishing rod in Fortnite Chapter 2
You will see small fishing pools around large and small bodies of water. If you see water, you have the chance to participate in the fishing action. Tiny bubbles will come from these pools. However, players will not be able to go to these areas and start fishing. The first thing to do is find a pole.
How to find a fishing rod
The fishing rod is critical. Players will need to find one while exploring the map. You might want to take a look near the docks, near areas where players might find fishing gear, or locate them by opening chests. The first fishing rod I encountered was inside a chest. However, if you approach a dock, you will find a large barrel of it. Approach the barrel and you will pull out the cane with flying colors. For those who can't find them in chests, this is the best way to locate them.
When you have your fishing rod, it will take up a place in your inventory. It will be as if you are holding a weapon, backpack or any other object. Make sure you have room if you are going to pick it up.
Fishing with your rod
When you have your cane, you will need to bring it to one of these boiling places. You can't run on either side of the water and cast your line. You need to find a fish picking area, which you can see above. Check out this reference when looking for a waterway you can start fishing in while in-game.
When you get there, you will need to get rid of it using the button prompt on your screen. It varies depending on the platform you are playing on. You will see a red shepherd hovering in the water, moving slowly through the water.
You don't want to withdraw too quickly because you won't get anything. You have to wait for the red barber to dive into the water and then remove it using the same button you used to throw it. If it has stopped and been pulled at the right time, you are going to receive a fish. These fish have different uses and effects when you eat them.
