How To Beat Master Mustard | Tips for the Battle of Final Trainer

After defeating Master Mustard in the Water tower / Tower of darkness, it will challenge you to one last game. This is the last challenge in the Isle of Armor DLC, and it's just for bragging rights. All you get for winning is a Master Mustard League card.

  • Recommended level: Lvl. 75
  • Master Mustard Pokémon Team:
    • Mienshao[[Lvl. 73 - Type of combat]
      • Weak to Fly / Psychic / Fairy
    • Luxray [[Lvl. 73 - Type of electricity]
    • Lycanroc[[Lvl. 75 - Type of rock]
      • Low to water / grass / combat / soil / steel
    • Corviknight[[Lvl. 74 - Flywheel / steel type]
    • Commo-o [[Lvl. 75 - Dragon / Combat type]
      • Low for Dragon / Fairy (x4) / Psychic / Flying / Ice
    • G-Max Urshifu [[Lvl. 75 - Combat / Water type - or - Combat / Dark type]
      • Quick Strike: Low Grass / Electric / Flying / Psychic / Fairy
      • Single Strike: weak in combat / flight / fairy

To win this fight, you have to bring in Pokémon that can deal heavy damage to your opponents. Be prepared to swap Pokémon every turn so you can do as much damage as possible - naturally, you can always level up above 75 for all of your Pokémon, but you don't have to. A good fairy-type Pokémon can do x4 damage to Kommo-o and Urshifu,

Always keep your Dynamax power until the end of the fight. Master Mustard will wait each time to release his Dynamax with Urshifu. You can also buy Max Potions and wait for the three-lap timer until Urshifu returns to his normal size. Make sure to upgrade to a Pokemon that can survive Fighting Style and Water / Dark attacks - Flight / Psychic / Fairy are strong against the type of fight, while Electric / Grass are good against the water type. With Dark Type, bring a Fight / Insect / Fairy.

After defeating Master Mustard, you will be able to collect it once per day. Just talk to him in the Master Dojo's break room. There is no reward - just a lot of XP!
