Google can search for exact file types

If you want to search precisely for a PDF, an Excel file or even Word on Google, there is a very simple command to refine your search and avoid all close but inaccurate results.

  • During your search, if you are looking for a PDF on Kaamelott, for example, type “kaamelott filetype:PDF” and the engine will only show you PDFs on Kaamelott. If you prefer an Excel file on mushrooms: "mushrooms filetype:xls". Note that unfortunately not all file types are compatible with this method.
