Baldur's Gate 3: 10 useful buttons and features the game doesn't explain

Fans of the original game are already familiar with some of these incredibly useful keystrokes, while others are completely new to the game developed by Larian. This game gives you a lot of control - like, an absurd amount, and the more buttons you learn, the faster you'll be able to go through open fights and the more loot you'll be able to uncover.

8 keys and functions to know | Important buttons

There are more important buttons and controls in it, but these are the buttons that you might not realize. They are incredibly useful and if you want to get more utility you can easily remap them.

    • Hold the tilde [~] - the key at the top left of your keyboard - to highlight enemies and allies. Enemies are red, potential enemies you can talk to are yellow, and friendly NPCs are green.
      • Have[[shift] to show enemy cones of vision. Perfect for sneaking around!
    • Have [Alt] to highlight objects with which you can interact in the environment.
    • There are now two rest buttons - Long repos et Court repos. Find the Short Rest button near the minimap. Short restore restores a random amount of HP and will renew many of your powers.
    • To lock or fully interact with the elements, press [Right-Click] inspect. This brings up an additional menu of interactions.
    • You can attack by force by en portant [Ctrl]+[Left-Click] to select your target. You can destroy barred doors or a locked chest, although this can destroy the contents inside.
    • There are two ways to move a character independent of the group.
      • Put a character in stealth mode, and they will move individually.
      • Ou slide character portrait party to separate them. Now the rest of the group won't follow.
    • The camera can be rotated by holding [[Middle mouse Button] and move the mouse. I recommend changing this to [[Q] + [[E] to rotate the camera left / right.
    • press [F1] / [F2] / [F3] / [F4] to quickly select the members of your group.
      • Remember you can separate the party.
      • You can also make a quick selection during dialogue or in other situations to prepare for battle.
    • You want to swap group members? Talk to them and you will have the option to send the party member back to camp. It's not a button, but there is no button for this trick.
    • Make it easy to sell. Mark the items in your inventory with the [[Add to goods]button. Anything marked as a commodity can be quickly sold for a profit when you return to civilization.
