Disintegration - The first game from V1 Interactive - will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on June 16. With the FPS title available on three different platforms, it's no surprise that people are curious about a possible cross-play feature.

Is cross-platform play supported in Disintegration?
Image via SteamLet's start with what happened during the Closed Beta. In a beta FAQ posted on the Private Division support page, the game publisher revealed that crossplay will not be available.
You might think that the cross-platform player was only unavailable during the closed beta, but it looks like that will extend to the full game as well. The private division explained, in the same FAQ, that it did not want to make "empty promises" to the players. Although they sort out the back-end on each platform - to ensure it works smoothly from day one - there won't be any cross-play functionality.
However, it is possible that it will be Disintegration in a future update. The FAQ also stated that the cross-play is "in development" and that V1 Interactive wants to implement it.
This backed up quotes from Disintegration creative director Marcus Lehto in an interview last August. The former Bungie employee - and creator of Halo - told Eurogamer it's "technically possible" to add it, but the team needed to coordinate it properly across platforms for it to be successful. This specifically falls into the “mouse and keyboard vs. controller” discussion of the matches being right depending on the system you're playing on.
At this time, then, Disintegration does not support cross-platform play. If we hear otherwise before or after the release, we will let you know.
