Destiny 2 - The Sundial Guide

Destiny 2 - The Sundial Guide

The Sundial is a new six-player matchmatch activity that has been added to Destiny 2 in Season of Dawn. During the Sundial Races you will try to help Osiris stop the Cabal from changing the past, creating a world in which they will win the Red War.

To start playing in The Sundial, you will need to find the Matter of Time quest. You can start this quest by visiting Ikora in the tower. When you have completed the quest, then you will have full access to the sundial and can browse it as often as you like.

    What is the sundial?

The sundial plays in a very similar fashion to the Menagerie. The sundial will charge different challenge zones which will require you to do different things. They all involve fighting enemies, but each area has its mechanics that you will need to master. For example, in the Datamine challenge area, you have to capture The points, while killing the Psion commanders that appear, surrounded by their protective bubbles. The only way to kill them is with a melee attack, so you have to hunt them down and kill them to keep taking the point.

We will have The complete guides for each different challenge area once we get through them all. In each area, it's essential to revive fallen teammates, use the banners to make sure everyone has their super and heavy ammo, and work together to get as much progress as possible. This will reduce your time spent at the sundial.

Much like the Menagerie, the progress you make in each area will fill a bar on the left side of the screen. When the bar is full, the sundial will charge up the boss fight for the week. Each boss fight will have different mechanics, and it will take solid teamwork to bring them down.

Once the boss is defeated, you will be brought back to the center of the sundial and will have to choose your reward. The rewards are dictated by the obelisk you have connected to the sundial for that race. If you don't know how to find an obelisk, this is a step of the Question of Time quest, which you will need to complete before accessing this activity. You also earn Major Fractal Harvests by completing Sundial Races, which you'll need to upgrade your obelisks.
