Is Noita coming to Xbox One or Xbox Series X
Launching Noita today is just a PC affair, but it usually precedes the announcement of console ports of some sort. Indie games need all the audiences they can get, and although the PC market has exploded in recent years, there are still more gamers. With the launch of the new consoles less than a month away, there will also be a lot of appetite for new games to be played on the Shiny Boxes. However, as of this point, there is no firm plan to release Noita anywhere other than PC, but the developer has said he will be reviewing it now that the PC version is out.
This then leads to other questions, as if Noita could even run on Xbox One or Xbox Series X. The game may seem simple but under the hood it does a lot of extra work. Each pixel in the game is physically simulated, allowing for some pretty breathtaking interactions and combinations. On top of that, there is a complex system of magic and alchemy that would tax even the most rugged platforms. The Xbox One and especially the Xbox Series X or S should be able to handle it just fine, but the controls will be a problem. Noita requires real precision and a mouse is the best way to handle it. Still, it might work, and Xbox consoles do support mouse and keyboard, so an output wouldn't be too surprising in the end.
Is Noita coming to Xbox Game Pass
That then leads to the next big question for any Xbox game version. Xbox Game Pass would be a great way to introduce Noita to the Xbox family of consoles. Again, there are no plans announced for this, but given the trajectory of indie games on Xbox, it would make a lot of sense. Game Pass offers a large audience of gamers right out of the gate. And financial data seems to work for most developers, although we don't yet know how Microsoft makes it work. So if Noita makes it to Xbox One and Series X / S, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it came in the form of an Xbox Game Pass version.
So the answer is that Noita coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or Game Pass isn't right now, but that could easily change in any way.
