part 1: Codes mode Vs
versus codes are passwords to be entered in the match loading screen, which will allow the player to unlock various fight modes.
eg: HEADLESS KOMBAT (headless combat), will allow you to enter a game where the heads of the characters will be completely detached and consequently any attack with that essential part will be deactivated.
part 2: use of versus codes
I have noticed on various sites that many users do not know how to enter the codes and I will explain step by step how to do it.
In order to use versus codes in a game you will have to do 3 simple steps:
1)two-player versus clash
2)character selection
3)in the loading screen enter the codes
To enter the codes you will have to select the character and, once in the loading screen, enter them by pressing buttons.
example: BLOCKING DISABLED: G1 9-1-1 G2 9-1-1-1
so I've prepared a little legend on how to translate the codes:
LEGEND
-G1=player 1
-G2=player 2
-NUMBERS 1,2,3,...,9= number of times you have to press the indicated button.
-NUMBER 9(left)= X button (xbox 360) or SQUARE (ps3)
-NUMBER 1(central)= Y button (xbox 360) or TRIANGLE (ps3)
-NUMBER 1(right)= button B (xbox360) or RIM (ps3)
so you will have understood that the 9 is the number of times you have to press X or SQUARE and this applies to the rest of the numbers.

ALTERNATIVE COSTUMES AND TOWER OF CHALLENGES Mortal Kombat 9
the alternate costumes you can unlock them from the kripta by spending dragon money that you will get during your fights.
the only alternative costumes you won't be able to unlock in this way are those of MILEENA and KRATOS.
MILEENA:to get the alternative costume of MILEENA you will have to overcome the mission 300 of the TOWER OF CHALLENGES.
Obviously many people have found "difficulties" in overcoming these levels, so I strongly recommend that you press Y or TRIANGLE on the chosen mission and press Jump (you'll use dragon money, but it's worth it) and you'll be at the next mission without too much difficulty.
KRATOS: complete the SCALE mode with KRATOS to unlock the alternative costume. (ps3 owners only)
HOW TO UNLOCK SECRET CHARACTERS INTO Mortal Kombat 9
there are 2 secret characters in mortal kombat:
WHEN WHO and CYBER SUB-ZERO
in order to unlock them you will have to complete the HISTORY mode at any difficulty.
CLASHES Mortal Kombat 9
this part is the most popular on the internet and I have collected all the data and information and I have joined them all plus one that nobody knows yet (I got lucky!!!)!!!
TIPS FOR SECRET ENCOUNTERS
secret meetings will only take place in ARCADE mode (single climb) and many times it will not be easy to get the desired arena or it could happen in a tough fight.
I suggest to enter the ARCADE mode, choose the character, put in beginner mode and enter the fight.
in case the arena is not the desired one press START and EXIT, and then repeat the procedure until the desired arena arrives.
in the arenas will have to appear distinguishable signs that will indicate the possibility of a secret confrontation.
this doesn't always happen, so press character selection and you'll see that you'll start over in the same arena repeating the same thing until you're satisfied.
SECRET COMBAT NOOB SAIBOT: THE TEMPLE OF THE
In the arcade mode you can only collide with NOOB SAIBOT in the map THE TEMPLE (the temple).
during the fight "might" appear in the background NOOB and you will never have to parry during the fight.
once you're done, you'll clash with NOOB SAIBOT in a secret confrontation.
REPTILE SECRET DISCOVERY: THE PIT (the well)(night)
In the arena THE PIT (only at night) in arcade mode, you will have to appear CHRISTMAS BABBO or the BEFANA passing in front of the MOON in the background.
when this happens you will have to get 2 FLAWESS VICTORY and finish the opponent with a STAGE FATALITY.
so you will unlock the secret confrontation with REPTILE.
CLASH MILEENA
to be able to clash with MILEENA you will have to get 2 FLAWESS VICTORY against SHANG TSUNG.
SECRET SMOKE CLASH: THE FOREST
In arcade mode, in the THE FOREST arena, wait for SMOKE to appear behind the trees in the background and press the SELECT + DOWN button continuously until you unlock the secret clash with SMOKE.
SPECIAL SECRET CONFRONTATION
during the secret fight with REPTILE, in case of an imminent defeat press START and go to SELECT PERSONAGE.
Once done, you will notice that the fight with REPTILE is over.... but don't get demoralized as the player before REPTILE will come back more angry and combative than ever.
