If you're like us, you might be looking for where Captain America landed in Fortnite. The Marvel hero has joined the game and has a skin available in the Item Shop, including a versatile shield and backbling. In a short cutscene that played out when players first started the game today, we got to see Cap arriving with the Bifrost. Players were curious about where the heading of the map was, so we tried to track down the location to see if there was a Bifrost marker, as there was in the video.
Unfortunately, we have bad news. The map Cap is seen landing on isn't really the map we're playing on in the game. From what we can tell, there is a bit of cinematic magic going on, including a potential platform. specially designed for Cap to land, especially for the kinematics.
To the left of Cape Town you can clearly see the rolling hills next to Lazy Lake, and to the right you can see Lockie Lighthouse. We jumped into the game to try and replicate this view, as best we could, and one thing is clear, where Cap landed does not appear to exist.
Now obviously there are some differences in things like the focal length of the shot, but we got closer, and as you can see the camera is floating above the lazy lake, on a piece of land. which does not actually exist in the game. If you come back any further, to reach the hills to the south of the map, you can't see Lockie at all.
Of course, the big clue is when the camera turns away from Captain America, towards the Bifrost brand, as there is certainly no flat area of trees like this on a mountain on the southern part of the map. So unfortunately it doesn't look like you can find the Bifrost in the game, as Cap appears to have landed on a part of the map that doesn't actually exist.
