Changes to the Solar Subclass in Destiny 2

The new Destiny 2 Solar Subclass update has arrived. These updates were created by Bungie to remove rust from these subclasses and give them a new shine. There's one for each class, giving them a new twist as well as quality of life attributes to make them feel a bit more up to date.

hunters

For hunters, the sniper path (the bottom path) in the Sun Tree has changes to make it feel like a more useful choice for all forms of activity.

  • Weighted Knife: A knife throw with a lot of damage, but it takes a little while to complete. It deals significant damage to an opponent's head, resulting in a one-hit precision hit in PvP, and it can bounce once. If you land a marksmanship, it recharges your melee ability.
  • Practice makes perfect: the ability now lasts longer; however, it provides less energy in return. Precision shots provide two stacks.
  • Knock 'em Down: Precision final hits increase weapon stability and ADS speed. The stopwatch starts at 10 seconds, but any final stroke / additional assist can increase it up to 25 seconds. Casting your Super with this buff over 20 seconds consumes the buff and deals bonus damage. It does not stack with the Heavenly Exotic Nighthawk
  • Line 'em Up: Old Crowd Pleaser perks are now part of this perk.

Additionally, there is a minor change in the Way of the Outlaw subclass. To show the difference between the 3-shot Golden Gun and the 6-shot, the 3-shot has a longer range with higher damage power. The 6-shot has a shorter range. While it can still reach the same distance as the 3 hit, it requires two hits to take down an opponent.

Titans

Titans who like to crush are in good company with those who want to crush the enemy team. To make it easier, the Devastator Code (the middle path) for the Sun Tree has been reworked.

  • Burning Maul: It now lasts 28,5 seconds, down from 21,2 seconds. Light attacks now only use three percent energy instead of five, and have changed animation. Heavy attacks now have a wider radius and increase energy costs by six to eight percent.
  • Roaring Flames: increased damage bonus from 10 to 25 percent per stack in PvP and the duration is now 20 seconds.
  • Hammer Throw: Increased impact damage from 100 to 120 and pickup radius from 2 meters to 3,5 meters.

You should find yourself able to get straight to the point with this new subclass and be able to take down enemies with a powerful hammer blow.

Warlocks

Warlocks have changes to their Sky Harmonization subclass in the Sun Tree. The changes are meant to make players feel like they are floating in the sky to destroy their enemies below.

  • The heat rises: consume your grenade to extend glide time and greatly reduce accuracy penalties in the air for weapons.
  • Winged Sun: Shoot weapons, use heavenly fire, and throw a grenade while soaring. Airborne final strikes grant melee energy and prolong the duration of heat surges.
  • Icarus Dash: Double tap the crouch button to dodge in the air. Dodging in Daybreak speeds players up further and costs less Super Energy while under the effects of Heat Rises.
  • Heavenly Fire: Send a spiral of three explosive solar projectiles
  • Due to the nature of these rework, Wings of Sacred Dawn has received a buff where it gains 15% damage resistance while Tome of Dawn is active.

All of these changes are active in Destiny 2. All you have to do is log into your Guardian and try them out for yourself. You don't have to do anything special to unlock them.
