What is the race for the world premiere?

The race for the world premiere has become a tradition in the Destiny community. When the Raid kicks off, teams from all over the world attempt to take on the challenge and be the first to complete it. Many will sink their efforts, and Destiny's focused streamers tend to make record numbers for one of Destiny's biggest events.

Every time, the Bungie staff like to throw a viewing party at the head office and tend to tweet about what's going on. They also officially announce a winner each time. Thus, there can be no confusion if the event turns into a tight event. The winners get the bragging rights and the ability to log off and eat food while the other teams compete against each other to be just the first losers. It's a tough life being a keeper.

The Garden of Salvation Raid will start with a potency recommendation of 890, reaching 920 for the final boss fight. It's safe to assume that anyone who is serious about their goal of winning will have already passed these levels to give themselves the best chance of being competitive.

The raid will also have an active contest mode, making it impossible to exceed the power level of an encounter. So while you may want to start with the highest power possible, you will never be able to stay up to the challenge, but you will not save time. This will last for the first 24 hours of the raid.

With that, you're either going to prepare for the raid today or watch people do their best on Twitch, so enjoy the fun of Raid Day, Guardians!
