Pokémon Go will have a busy month in March for those looking for big Legendary Pokémon. Not only will Trainers have the chance to capture Thundurus, but they can catch Cobalion, for a limited time. Developer Niantic has set aside a special weekend for Darkrai, Lugia, Giratina (Altered Forme) and Cobalion. If you capture him during this time, he will come with the Special Move Holy Sword, which is a combat-type move that deals a lot of damage, ignoring any speed or evasion effects.
Cobalion Weekend is from March 20 at 8 a.m. to March 23 at 22 p.m. in your local time zone.
Weaknesses of cobalion
Cobalion is a Steel and Fighting-type Pokémon, which makes it weak against Fighting, Fire, and Ground-type attacks. You have a handful of choices to choose from when trying to delete it. Cobalion is a reasonably tough Pokémon, which means you might want to focus on its defenses as much as possible. He has a variety of resistances, which makes him a tough fight. You want to avoid using Dark, Dragon, Grass, Ice, Normal, and Steel type moves, and most importantly you want to avoid using Bug, Poison, or Rock type attacks against him.

You want him to know the Fire Fangs and Flamethrower, or use Fire Fangs and Superheat. Alternatively, Entei may know the fire's spin as its rapid movement, but you might not find that it has the best results.

While Excadrill lacks a lot of defense, it does offer a robust attack that you can use against Cobalion. To take advantage of Cobalion's land-type defense, you want Excadrill to know about mud slam and drill or mud slam and rock slide. The first is far superior to the second. You want to avoid using Steel type moves, Cobalion is also Steel type.

For those looking for a unique type of fire to throw at Cobalion, Chandelure is a great choice. He's also resistant to Fighting and Steel-type attacks, which means Cobalion will have a hard time using any STAB attacks against him. Ideally, you want a candlelight that knows fire and overheating, but if you have to settle for the fire and shadow ball spinning, that's fine, too.
These Pokémon are not your only options against this formidable fight. You can also use Groudon, Garchomp, Heatran, Moltres, Blaziken, Flareon, Machamp, Rhyperior, Typhlosion, Hariyama, Arcanine and many more. Several Fire-type favorites are missing, but almost any Pokémon with Fire-type moves will deal serious damage to the Sword of Justice limb.
