So what's up with some of the current crashes in Pokemon Go? Players report that they will go out and meet Turtwig on their map. However, when they do, they cannot install Turtwig in their PokeDex and they cannot capture the Pokémon. When they approach her on their map and try to meet her, the app crashes. Some players would have the completely blue screen, others would have a white screen and the app crashed and had to restart.
This error arose after the recent update regarding Pokemon Go's new line-up Team Rocket line-up. Team Rocket now has a Shadow Turtwig, and Trainers have the option of choosing to save the Pokemon or keep the shadow-like creature on their roster. Regardless, the recent update prevents many players from encountering and capturing these Turtwigs.
The question could also allude to the new Turtwig which is due out on September 15, for Turtwig's official Community Day in Pokemon Go. The Community Day will allow Trainers to capture the Turf-type Pokémon with a whole new skill that it can use. he normally wouldn't, for a limited time. The two could be related, as Pokemon Go players had the same issue with Ralts when he was added to the Team Rocket Ghost Squad, and then his Community Day was held a few weeks later.
Unfortunately, there is no immediate solution to the error. Players have the option of restarting their app or bypassing Turtwig Trouble entirely. It might be best to avoid Turtwig until Pokemon Go's developers, Niantic, can patch a fix.
This issue should be resolved before Turtwig Community Day on September 15, as this has happened before. Players will need to be patient until Niantic can deal with it.
