Do subway stations for quick commutes come to Call of Duty: Warzone?

After the Dallas Empire won the Call of Duty League Championship, the eSports League sent a congratulatory tweet to the team. As a GIF, the tweet showed fireworks above Warzone's Verdansk stadium, but also added a noticeable change to the location - a metro station entrance outside the site.

Anyone can spot the building by looking in the lower left corner, with a green awning by the side of the road. If this sounds familiar to you, it's because similar metro stations are already in a few other places in Warzone, but are currently closed with locked doors. Now, it looks like those doors may soon open with a fast-moving metro station on the way.

How the rumors started

In July, there was already talk of whether the stations were more than eye candy, as Call of Duty-focused Twitter account BKTOOK_ posted a mysterious image of what appeared to be a map of a metro in the battle royale. The user has since declined to say how he came across the photo, but it was taken more seriously as even the interior of the Verdansk stadium suggests you can go underground.

So far, the Call of Duty League tweet marks the first time anyone or something officially associated with the game has added fuel to the rumors. Since the start of season five, this has become more believable, with fans recently being given the opportunity to ride freight trains found on the map.

When these could be added

Of course, the most likely time that can be added is when Warzone reaches its sixth season towards the end of September. With Warzone implementing some aspects of the next installment in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, royal players should keep an eye out for when the game debuts in all of its multiplayer features on September 9.
