Tools are important in Grounded, and eventually you'll want to upgrade from your level 1 Pebblet ax to a more impactful level 2 ax. It will take some work and you will need certain things to be able to make it happen.
How to get a level 2 ax
The first thing to do is to make sure you have a workbench. The level 2 ax can only be built on the workbench, so even if you get all the parts you need, you won't be able to craft it unless you have one.
Once you've sorted out, you'll need to go to the area shown on the map above to find the ladybug. The ladybug has a fairly large patrol area here, so search around until you find it, but make sure you don't get overrun by spiders.
Now you have to kill the ladybug. It may make you feel like a Disney villain, but the Ladybug will wreck you if you get hit. Two shots from a Ladybug are enough to send you to a spawn point, so carefully do it around and stab it with your spear when you can.
