The last straw of Crystal Dynamics is with in-game cosmetics. However, some of them aren't just for show business. They'll give your heroes special abilities, be labeled in different rarity classes, and more.

What are cosmetics in Marvel's Avengers?
Cosmetics are items that you can equip with your different characters. These will be different outfits - or skins - in which you can dress your heroes to stand out from the crowd, especially on multiplayer tours.
The outfits were taken straight from the pages of Marvel's illustrious comic book catalog, so longtime fans are sure to be geeky if they find their favorite costume for their character. Developer Crystal Dynamics has also crafted some unique new skins just for their game, so watch out for those too.
There are four types of cosmetic rarity in Marvel's Avengers: Uncommon, Rare (Blue), Epic (Purple), and Legendary (Gold). However, they won't give you any gameplay benefits or boost your stats. This is what the equipment is for, so the cosmetics are only there to make your heroes look as chic as you want them to be.
How do I get cosmetics in Marvel's Avengers?
There are many cosmetic items that can be picked up during the game's campaign mode as loot, crafting mission puzzles, from the Marketplace, or by visiting various vendors in the game.
You can decipher the models obtained during the missions using your helicarrier's crafting machine, and completing iconic hero missions will allow you to unlock full iconic costumes for certain characters.
Specific skins will also give you certain Takedowns. Kills are cosmetic abilities that allow your Avengers to perform powerful moves under certain circumstances during combat. Once used, these Takedowns will feature a cooldown timer so you can't spam your way to victory.
Are there any platform exclusive cosmetics in Marvel's Avengers?
Yes. Much like the Spider-Man content they'll get in Marvel's Avengers, PlayStation 4 owners will receive exclusive cosmetics when the game launches.
PS4 users will have an exclusive 30-day window to Legendary Outfit, Epic Takedown, and more as each is released. After this 30 day period, PC and Xbox One gamers will also have access to it.
PS Plus subscribers will also receive a free pack for every post-launch Avengers. These will include a rare outfit, nameplate, and 100 credits. It's unclear if these will ever be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers - on Xbox One and PC -.
