It's been about a week since Activision launched Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to the market. It's a huge hit between its massive single-player campaign, addicting multiplayer, and thrilling co-op.
But another thing the game includes is nods for other items, with the help of a few hidden Easter eggs. It may take a little while to find them, but they are certainly worth it in some cases. There is one that can be a bit awkward, but at least you know Infinity Ward's morality is failing.
Let's go through the four Modern War Easter eggs that we know about so far. As we continue to find more, we'll add them here!
Discover actibase
First of all, remember when Call of Duty black ops II Nuketown, and you might find a classic Activision console to kick back and relax? Well, Modern Warfare has a few gameplay qualities of its own.
If you take the Piccadilly mission, you will come across an electronics store. Go inside and you will see a series of game tricks. Among them is what is pictured above - the Actibase!
This is a console with a controller, as well as all connections. In addition, it also comes with 120 GB of hard drive space. Unfortunately, that's not enough to handle Modern Warfare's size is beefy.
You can't play it or anything, but it's a stylish element. Nonetheless, glancing at this controller, it's awful to say the least. This D-pad feels uncomfortable. And, by the way, where are the buttons ?!
Pennywise, is that you ?!
So in 2v2 Gunfight mode, there's a particular map that seems to take place in a neighborhood. If you get to a spawn point and look for a sewer, you might find something of interest, a red balloon.
In case it's not clear, it's associated with Stephen King's It, the subject of two blockbuster Warner Bros. movies. If you see a red balloon in these movies (of which there are a lot of them), you'll realize they're related to the killer clown Pennywise.
That doesn't mean he's in the game, mind you. And remember, that was part of the game's alpha, so it hasn't been found in the final product yet. Still, if Pennywise is lurking, maybe grab some extra ammo. In case.
Why would you want to shoot a baby ?!
So the Clean House mission is quite difficult, as you will have to watch your fire when you go through a dark house. But it also harbors a secret for gamers who prefer to show off their morbid side.
