A Nintendo Switch port is currently in development, but there is currently no official release date for the Nintendo Switch version of Genshin Impact. The game is currently only available on PC, PS4, and mobile devices. The Switch version will arrive at a later date, although the release window remains unknown.
The Nintendo Switch version of the game is still coming, it just takes a little longer than other platforms. In an interview with Site RPG, MiHoYo's communications manager, Sam Lai shared some details about the game's Switch port. “The Switch version of Genshin Impact is currently under development. More information on beta testing and Switch launch dates will be announced at a later date. The team probably wanted to release the PC, PS4 and mobile versions before focusing on the optimizations necessary to make the game work on Nintendo's hybrid console.
Lai mentions beta testing, which could mean the Switch version of the game could be playable sooner than most think. Genshin Impact has had multiple beta tests across all platforms, and the game's first closed beta came shortly after the initial trailer. A beta version of Switch could arrive before the end of the year, although that is only speculation. The beta will likely happen early next year, followed by a late 2021 release date for the full Switch version of Genshin Impact is much more likely.
Cross-save and cross-play are also implemented in all versions of Genshin Impact, although the first is limited to the PlayStation 4 version. The developer should make sure that the Switch version of the game can work with the PC, PS4 versions. and mobile and maybe even include a cross-save on the Nintendo machine. Cross-save is not available on the Sony console, but it wouldn't be the first time that a Switch port of a game has included cross-save with other platforms.
Genshin Impact is now available for PC, PS4 and mobile devices. The Nintendo Switch version of the game will be released at a later date.
