How to beat Cresselia in Pokémon Go - Weaknesses, Counters, Strategies

Cresselia is a Legendary Pokémon that you can potentially encounter during five-star raids in Pokémon Go. It belongs to the fourth generation and is a decent choice for those looking to add a reliable Large and Ultra League Pokémon to their roster. You want to bring so many friends with you into the raid to increase your chances of destroying and capturing it.

Weaknesses of Cresselia

Cresselia is purely a Psychic-type Pokémon, which makes it weak against Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type attacks. He has an exceptional streak of defensive stats which makes him somewhat difficult to take down. He doesn't have the best attack stats. You want to avoid having a Psychic or Fighting-type Pokémon in your roster when you fight it.

Pokémon to counter Cresselia

The best Pokémon to use in your list to fight Cresselia are Weavile, Chandelure, and Darkrai.

Weavile is a Dark and Ice type Pokémon. It's a great choice given its variety of dark-type moves, making it a strong opponent for Cresselia. He has a max CP of 3, offense of 005, defense of 243, and stamina of 171. He has excellent offense, but not the best defensive stats. You want yours to know grunt moves and foul play.

The next Pokémon you want to have in your party is Chandelure, the Ghost and Fire-type Pokémon. He's significantly stronger than Weavile, so you can use this one later in the roster to help finish Cresselia, or use it earlier in your raid roster. It has a max CP of 3, attack of 268, defense of 271, and stamina of 182. You want yours to know the movement of the hexagon and shadowball.

The last Pokémon you want to use if you have one is Darkrai, the legendary Dark-type Pokémon. Not everyone might have Darkrai on their list. Still, it's probably one of the best Pokémon to use against Cresselia, if you get the chance. It has a max CP of 3, attack of 739, defense of 285, and stamina of 198. You want yours to know the growling moves and dark pulse.

While these are the best Pokémon to use, they aren't your only options. You can also use Giratina, Mewtwo, Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Houndoom, Scizor, Gengar, Pinsir, or Durant. After completing the Five Star Raid, you and your teammates will have the chance to catch Cresselia.
