How to choose and control the weather in Pokémon Sword and Shield's Isle of Armor

How to choose and control the weather in Pokémon Sword and Shield's Isle of Armor

When looking for a specific Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Shield, you should respect the type of weather conditions that appear and the area of the map. For example, you can only find Shinx on Challenge Road, Potbottom Desert, Training Lowlands, and Challenge Beach while it is raining or there is a thunderstorm. If you visit these places during any other weather condition, there is no point in encountering one. Rather than waiting, you can change the time and date settings on your Nintendo Switch to change the weather immediately. While the method remains the same, it works a little differently with Isle of Armor.

You follow the same steps to change the weather from the moment you did it for the Sword and Shield Wild Area. You want to close your Pokémon game on your Nintendo Switch, select your system settings, go to the System tab and select the date and time options. You will then enter a new date to change the weather for your current game. In the basic Sword and Shield game, you must enter the first of each month. For example, if you wanted snowy weather, you change it to December 1st and the snow would be all over Galar. However, with Isle of Armor, you want to select the 15th of the month.

Here are all the dates of the weather selections in the Isle of Armor:

    • Normal: mars / sept / 15 nov
    • Overcast: Feb 15
    • Rainy: April / June 15
    • Thunderstorm: July 15 / August
    • Fog: January 15 / October 15
    • Hard sunlight: May 15 / Dec.
    • Sandstorm: random
    • Snowy: not available
    • Snowstorm: not available

Because the Isle of Armor is predominantly tropical, you won't find any snow or blizzard there. Sandstorms are also unpredictable, which means you may have to spin the days of your Nintendo Switch console to find one available for your game.
