Excalibur Umbra is a Warframe variant based on Excalibur. He has increased armor and energy, and also has polarity slots allowing him to use Umbral mods. Excalibur Umbra cannot be mined in the same way as many other Warframes, but is obtained by completing a particular quest.

To get Excalibur Umbra, you must complete the quest The Sacrifice. You must have completed the Apostasy Prologue to get this quest. If you haven't yet taken part in the Apostasy Prologue, simply visit your personal neighborhood on the Orbiter. You should see an energy orb floating near the window. Interact with it, then play through the short quest.
Once that's done, you can access the quest The Sacrifice in the Codex.
The quest for sacrifice
In this guide, I'll give you some important information that will walk you through the quest, but I'll do my best to avoid the damage.
Investigate Sensitive Energy
The first step of the quest sends you to Lith on Earth. When you land, kill the Grineer and then search the courtyard using the Codex Scanner or Synthesis Scanner. You will find articles in the following locations:
- next to the tree
- at the back left of the courtyard
- to the right of the tree, near a rock
- around the middle of the yard, near a gravestone
- to the right of the alley near the entrance to the courtyard
Explore the Moon
For this part, you just have to match the blue symbols of the Orokin Memory Cipher terminal with the blue symbols present in the area. You have to physically find the symbols in the level for this to work.
The first memory code requires two symbols, the second requires four symbols. If you have trouble solving the second problem, after finding all the symbols Ordis will help you eventually.
Go through the rest of the level to go to the next part, get on board the Orbiter. It's a heavy tale, so I'll avoid talking about it here.
Explore Ceres
Follow Excalibur Umbra through the level. When you find him he is resistant to all damage, so use your Void Blasts to knock him out, then use Transfer on him. This will give you access to a new Warframe memory.
Explore Neptune
When you find Excalibur Umbra on Neptune, he will have a new shield that will make him immune to damage from Void Blast. Hit him with your Void Beam to remove the shields, then the Void Blast, then do another transfer.
Explore Lua (again)
Once again, the Excalibur Umbra will have a new shield making it immune to damage from Void Whitening. Hit him with your Void Beam to remove the shields, then the Void Blast, then perform another transfer. Once you take control of the Ombra, simply head to extraction.
Back to earth
You will return to the courtyard to face an NPC. Engage in a fight with the NPC and take out all Sentient enemies to enter a cutscene and complete the quest.
When you eventually return to the Orbiter, you will now have access to the Excalibur Umbra War Frame.
