How to get Galvagon, Galvagla, Hydragon and Pokemon Fossil Hydragla in sword and shield

Galvagon, Galvagla, Hydragon, and Hydragla are the new Fossil Pokemon from Sword and Shield. These unusual Pokémon can only be obtained by using fossils, which you must find in the game.

Where to find fossils in Pokémon Sword and Shield

How to get the fossils

The first thing you need to do to get Galvagon, Galvagla, Hydragon, and Hydragla is find the Fossils. You can find the first set of fossils on Route 6, as you make your way to Stow-on-Side. You will pass some Taupiqueur sculptures and you will know you are approaching them. You will have to climb ladders and you will come to a campsite. Next to the campsite will be a woman named Cara Liss with a strange machine. You will see a rock with something shiny, and this is where you get your first fossil.

When you have that, you can go to Stow-on-Side and talk to an NPC in the Pokémon Center. He will give you another fossil. Where it gets interesting is that Sword and Shield only has two fossils each. If you want to collect all four, you'll need to give the fossils to a Pokémon, then trade them to a player willing to trade the other fossils to you.

Drake and Fish fossils are exclusive to Shield, while Bird and Dino fossils are exclusive to Sword.

How to get Galvagon, Galvagla, Hydragon and Hydragla

To combine the fossils and create your new Pokemon, you will have to return to the woman with the strange machine at the campsite. Her name is Cara Liss, and she will combine them for you to make your Pokemon.

  • Fossilized Drake and Fossilized Dino = Galvagon
  • Fossilized Bird and Fossilized Dino = Galvagla
  • Duck and fossilized fish = Hydragon
  • Fossilized Bird and Fossilized Fish = Hydragla

Remember that you can only get two of the fossils in your game. You will have to trade with other trainers to get the other fossils.
