How to get Pokéballs in Pokémon Go during quarantine

How to get Pokéballs in Pokémon Go during quarantine

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, developer Niantic has made it easier to get PokéBalls in Pokémon Go without leaving your home. This way, players can still participate in Pokémon Go to capture any Pokémon that roam near their homes, but players don't have to leave their homes to spin PokéStops to get useful items. These are just a few ways to get them right now, and as the global quarantine continues, more could be on the way.

Each week until otherwise specified, there will be a purchasable rotating pack once available for each player to purchase a different bundle of PokéBalls. The first pack consists of 100 PokéBalls and is available until March 30.

These packs only cost one PokéCoin. Most players acquire PokéCoins during the first few quests, but after that, they are usually earned by participating in gym battles and having a Pokémon in one for more than 24 hours. For those who don't have any PokéCoins available, purchasing 100 costs $ 0,99 in the PokéShop, available to anyone missing or needing to purchase the upcoming packs. We could see Great and Ultra balls coming to these beams, potentially. We're not sure what to expect from them at this time.

All players can now receive 30 gifts from their friends each day. These gifts should now contain more PokéBalls of all varieties. In addition, each player can now hold up to 20 gifts to distribute to other players. Unfortunately, the goodies are obtained by visiting locations in the real world and spinning PokéStops, so those could quickly dry up with the people staying at home. Hopefully Niantic comes up with a solution to this future problem, but now it's easier for players to send gifts to everyone on their friends list.

Niantic is always releasing consistent updates to give players more opportunities to keep playing Pokémon Go, but making it easier to stay at home. For example, players no longer have to meet the walking requirements to participate in the Battle League, until further notice. We can expect to hear more from these in the future, and if other ways to receive PokéBalls become available, we'll update this guide to reflect the new information. Stay safe and don't go outside.
