How to swim and snorkel at Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons adds even more things to do on your tropical island getaway with the first wave of summer updates on July 3. While we can't get our hands on the update for a few weeks, Nintendo has already hinted at how you can swim and dive in the new update.

When the update is removed, you will no longer be able to walk on any side of your island and jump into the water. First of all, you will need to wear the right equipment. The official Nintendo Japan website has shown two different ways of acquiring a swimsuit, which allows you to get in the water.

First off, you can buy one from Nook's Cranny for 3 bells and put one on right away. While 000 bells isn't much in the grand scheme of things, you can find out how to quickly crush bells in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons guide if you need to quickly add change to your inventory.

Alternatively, you can spend 800 miles at a Nook Inc themed corner and mail it to you if you're willing to wait another day.

The swimsuit will immerse you in the water where you can meet Pascal the Otter for new furniture, but to dive underwater you will need a snorkel. Nintendo will mail you a letter along with a red, yellow, or blue snorkel. This will allow you to go underwater and find new seal life to add to your museum. If these colors aren't your thing, we would imagine there will be more available for purchase, but at this time there is no information.
