How to update YouTube on Android
If you are using a device with an operating system Android and you want manually update YouTube to the latest stable version, open the Google Play Store (the icon looks like a shopping bag with the ▶ ︎ symbol in the center), search YouTube inside and press the button Update related to the app.
Therefore, wait for the latest version of the application to be downloaded and installed on your smartphone. Once it is updated, you will automatically have all the latest features available in it. If instead of the "Update" button you find the "Open" button, it means that you are already using the latest version of YouTube.
In reality, the procedure I have just shown you could be done automatically from your device. Android smartphones, in fact, have an automatic update function that downloads and installs the latest versions of apps as soon as they are available (or almost). In case YouTube has not been updated on your device automatically, it may be that this feature has been disabled by mistake.
You can check, and possibly reactivate, this convenient automatic update function on your device, in a very simple way. How you do it? Just open the Google Play Store, press onprofile icon located at the top right and select the item Settings from the menu that appears on the screen. Next, tap on the option first Generali and then on that Automatic app update. You will find the voice Only via Wi-Fi. If it is not active, check this option to activate it. This way, Android will start updating apps automatically as soon as your device connects to a Wi-Fi network. Doing so will also prevent the update from automatically downloading when you are using your data connection.
If you have an Android smartphone, but there are no Google services, you can still carry out the update using an alternative method, which I am going to explain to you. Put simply, if you want to understand how to update youtube without play store, you need to familiarize yourself with the system related to i APK packages.
Put simply, these are files made available by third-party websites, which allow you to install applications without going through the Play Store. However, in the case of YouTube, I remind you that it is a service owned by Google and therefore it may not work as it should when installed via APK. In this context, you could therefore think of using the official YouTube portal from mobile or looking for an alternative (for example, on some Amazon devices it is possible to download an app called simply YouTube.com).
In any case, downloading the APK can be useful in certain contexts, so I'll show you immediately how you can proceed. For download the YouTube APK package, open the browser you use most frequently to browse the Internet with your device (for example Chrome or Firefox) and visit the APKMirror website. In case you don't know, the latter is considered among the safest and most reliable by the Android community. I remind you, however, that you are still passing by sources outside the Play Store and therefore it is always good to take into account the safety issue (there are many non-serious sites that distribute apparently legitimate APKs that actually contain Android malware).
For the rest, once you have connected to the aforementioned portal, click on the icon Download which is next to the version most recent of the YouTube app, present in the section All versions. You may be prompted to tap on the icon X to "skip" advertising. At this point, scroll the page that appears on the screen until you reach the box of Download and select l 'icona della freccia verse il basso which is to the right of the entry Variant.
You will then have to press the button DOWNLOAD APK present on the page that appears. Also, if you are asked which app you want to download the YouTube apk package with, choose the browser you are currently using (eg. Chrome) and answer OK to the notice that will appear below (you may have to close a screen asking you if you want to translate the content of the page from English).
Once you have completed the application download, open the application Download Android (or use a file manager such as Google Files to open the folder Download of the device), select the YouTube APK package and confirm the installation of the updated version of the app by pressing the button Install.
If the procedure is not successful, it probably means that you need to authorize the installation of third-party apps, responding affirmatively to the warning that appears on the screen and activating the relative lever. How to update YouTube on iOS
You would like to update the YouTube app and you don't know how to do it because you are new to iPhone o iPad? No problem, it's very easy. I'll explain how to do it right away. First of all, open theApp Store (the blue icon with the letter "A" in the center) and tap on the tab Search, down.
After that, you need to search for the YouTube, select it in the list of applications found and press the button Update. Now you will clearly have to wait a few seconds for the update to download successfully on your device.
If by chance, instead of the button Update find the button apri, it means you already have the latest YouTube version already installed on your phone. The app will therefore not need further updates for the moment.
If you had to update the YouTube app manually, using the procedure I just explained to you, it means that the automatic app update system may not work correctly. Check to be sure that everything is in order: open the menu Settings of your iPhone (the gear icon located on the main screen) and press on the option App Store.
In the screen that opens, if they are not already active, activate the options App e Updates. In this way your smartphone will be able to download app updates completely automatically. However, if you do not want your device to download updates while it is in use, the Data connection, make sure the option Automatic downloads (which you find a little further below in the section MOBILE DATA) is deactivated. How to update YouTube on Smart TV
How do you say? You usually use YouTube su Smart TV and are you wondering how to update the official Google service app from this platform? No problem, I'll tell you how to do it right away!
In this case, obviously the procedure depends on the type of Smart TV at your disposal. In fact, I remind you that several are available on the market operating systems, often made directly by the producers themselves. In any case, the procedure to follow is not actually difficult. To give you a concrete example, I will illustrate you in detail how to update YouTube on LG Smart TV.
If you have a smart TV from this manufacturer, just press the button Home on the remote control, move over the box LG Content Store and press the button OK remote control. By doing so, you will access the official digital store of the TV: you just have to press the icon Personal page, that is the third top from left to right, select the box of YouTube and use the button OK on the remote control on the button UPDATE.
Alternatively, staying inside the tab PERSONAL PAGE, you can optionally choose to press the button UPDATE EVERYTHING, so that your TV has all the latest versions of applications installed. In any case, if the YouTube application does not need updates at the moment, it will appear in the section All Apps Installed. In short, updating the app is not complex.

- YouTube for Android TV (Android): The official YouTube application to play videos on a Smart TV that has Android.
- YouTube Studio (Android / iOS / iPadOS): the official application to manage your YouTube channel from mobile devices.
- YouTube VR (Android / Oculus): The official YouTube application that transforms all videos on the platform into a virtual reality experience. The application is dedicated to virtual reality viewers.
- YouTube Kids (Android / Android TV / iOS / iPadOS): the YouTube version dedicated to children. A controlled environment that can be "explored" without problems by children.

In case it is not clear, the method for updating these applications is the same which I have illustrated in the previous chapters, depending on the platform you are using. In short, it is not about anything complex.
