Mario Kart Tour - Get a fantastic combo 10 times in total

Mario Kart Tour has just been updated and the Tokyo Tour has started. This new tour will once again last for two weeks, giving you plenty of time to summarize the challenges you face. One of those challenges is getting a Fantastic Combo 10 times in total. It might sound a little intimidating, but you have two weeks to complete it and you can do it over multiple races.

To get a Fantastic Combo 10 times, the rider / course combination will be very important. I would suggest trying to rack up some fantastic combos at 100CC. It's a good, fast pace on most courses, which allows you to keep combos in place, while still being quick enough not to miss out on important parts and ramps to add to the Combo. Other pilots will also be a bit less skilled and aggressive, meaning they're less likely to be able to interrupt your combos.

I would also suggest not to use a pilot with fast abilities, as this again can cause you to miss parts or ramps, and it might be better to use a pilot with a more focused and offensive ability in order to to ensure combos are taken into account when you really need them. Once again, Yoshi and his ogres Yoshi Eggs can save the day.

Your combo will build each time you perform any of the following in-game actions:

  • Hit other drivers with objects while playing
  • Collect coins
  • Hit a drift to get a boost
  • Preform a boost
  • slip
  • Collecting items
  • Special movements
  • Overtaking

The idea is to go from action to action, jump a ramp, pick up a coin, grab an object, drift into a corner, hit an enemy with an object, then grab another coin, all in a smooth run so your combo stays under construction. Another great way to build a combo is to use your glider.

To get a Fantastic Combo, you need to perform 9 Combo Building Moves without letting the chain break by taking too long between each action. I strongly suggest you try this Challenge on Tokyo Blur T, the very first race of the Rosalina Cup. This is a really well-designed track for scoring easy combos, and with practice you shouldn't have a problem stringing together 9 Combo building actions on the course.
