Take advantage of special research rewards
Our first tip was going to be to tell you to stock up on supplies for Go Fest, but luckily Niantic is helping players by providing them with items that will be of great help for free. One of the most important items you should have for Go Fest is Frankincense, which allows Pokémon to appear one after another for you. You can still buy them, but there is a special research reward that will give you 10 just for taking a single snapshot with your friend. Just be sure to do this when playing with your friend to get the 10 free incense. The other very important item that you will need are Poke Balls to catch your Pokemon, which you can also purchase if needed. However, there is a research task that will reward you with 200 large balls just for using a single incense. This can only be done once, but it should definitely help. In fact, you'll probably want to wait to use this one when your bag is lower after using a lot of your other Poke Balls. If not, gifts can also be a good way to increase your Poke Ball count.

Pokemon GO introduced the idea of remote raids a few months ago, where you could use a Remote Raid Pass to raiding a gym in your neighboring area rather than having to stick to it. . This was further improved over the past two weeks when the ability to invite friends from all over the world to raids was also added, which also requires each person invited to use a Remote Raid Pass. These passes are available in the store for 100 coins per coin or 250 coins for three, but they also give you three free in a special box that you can find in the Go Fest store. Make sure you take this one so you have it ready if you are invited to a raid throughout the day.
Watch the hourly global challenges
Each hour of Pokemon GO Fest has a theme, including Battle, Friendship, Fire, Water, and Grass. There are two different times per day for each of them, divided into one-hour segments. For each of those hours, there are Global Challenges that people can complete that will lead to a bonus for the rest of that hour, which means you might want to wait for those hours to do certain things. This includes 3x Raid and Stardust XP per hour of combat, 2x candy from captures during hour of fire, 3x Stardust from captures during hour of water, 3x XP from captures during hour of fire. grass, and the possibility of rare candies as gifts during Friendship Hour. For example, you'll probably want to save your Lucky Eggs for use during Weed Hour, as this will help you maximize the amount of XP you can earn.
Keep the incense all day
Incense will be the key to continuously obtaining Pokemon during Pokemon GO Fest, especially if you are playing from home. Incense has been given in other instances and Niantic is already giving 10 for the first day as mentioned above meaning you have at least one for every hour of Pokemon GO Fest Day 1. Have more Pokemons up to par will only increase your chances of finding brilliants, so there is absolutely no reason not to leave your incense on all day, while also mixing Lucky Eggs and Star Chunks more according to the world. Shiny Check every Pokemon

Play at least one of each habitat hour type
As we mentioned above, Pokemon GO Fest has habitat areas that rotate every hour, with five different areas rotating throughout the day. Each of these hours not only has the different global challenges and rewards as discussed earlier, but the theme of that hour also brings specific Pokémon. The Fire, Grass, and Water Hours are pretty self-explanatory, but you also have the Friendship and Battle Hours which bring in exclusive Pokémon as well. This means you're going to want to play at least one of each hour of the day to fully enjoy Pokemon GO Fest and see all of the Pokemon that will be available during the event.
Use snapshots to get Wash Rotom
Pokemon GO Fest offers players many different Pokemon that they can catch through the different times of the event, but the only brand new Pokemon to Pokemon GO during this event is Rotom. Specifically, you can catch Wash Rotom by taking snapshots of your Pokémon and hoping it spawns. We don't know if this will continue after Pokemon GO Fest, so be sure to take advantage of this now and try to get as many as possible. You might want to wait to do this during the 3x Candy hour, as Rotom Candy won't be easy to find. Keep in mind that you can get up to five Pokémon per day from Snapshots, so try several times.
