First of all, don't buy the wrong expansion card! A lot of gamers have accidentally purchased the wrong expansion pass for their version of the game, and even Nintendo has issued a statement - basically you have to buy the expansion pass for the version you own.
If you are really worried about buying the wrong version of the expansion, simply load your game on Nintendo Switch, open the [Y] menu and select the expansion card at the bottom right of the screen. This will automatically select the correct extension passage to purchase.

How to access the Isle of Armor DLC
After purchasing and downloading the Isle of Armor Expansion Pass from Nintendo eShop (again, make sure you have the correct version! Sword for Sword, Shield for Shield), jump into your game and you will receive a message explaining how to reach the new island.
- After downloading the Isle of Armor DLC, you will receive a Armor pass item in your inventory.
- To reach the Isle of Armor, go to Wedgehurst Station and show the station agent your armored pass. He's the guy talking to one of the two new coaches you'll meet.
- After catching the Slowpoke, talk to the station agent again and select Armor station. If you use the regular travel method, you won't find Armor Station available!
You can access this DLC at any level! Whether you're level 1, 20, or 60 - Pokémon and story content will scale to your level, so you'll encounter a challenge no matter what happens to the Isle of Armor.
Before you can leave, you will need to catch a slowpoke in the trainstation. If you are really high level, just use a big ball to make sure you catch that rascal. After that, you are free to take a tour of the new wilderness area and start your training!
