Johto Celebration Event Research Tasks and Timed Rewards
Below are the Timed Research tasks and rewards for the Johto Celebration event in Pokémon GO. This is expected to last the entire event, which runs from Jan.26 to Jan.31 at 20 p.m. ET. Complete it while the event is live to get the rewards listed below.
- Catch 15 Dark-type Pokémon - 5 Large Balls
- Catch 15 Shadow Pokémon - 5 Revives
- Defeat a GO Rocket Team Leader 3 times - a Pokémon encounter
Rewards: 15 Poké Balls, one incense and 5000 XP
Most of these will be quite difficult and take a long time, especially to beat the leaders of Team GO Rocket. Luckily, we've already put together guides on how to beat Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra, so check them out if you need help.

While there aren't any Dark-type Pokémon on the list, you can get some while you try to take down the Team GO Rocket leaders.
