The Surge 2 - How to improve your rig

In The Surge 2, your platform is the reason you can take on your enemies. The exo costume allows you to fight with much more force than you can as an ordinary human. The rig also affects your health, stamina, and battery stats, allowing you to stay in combat even longer as you level up.

How to improve your platform

Your rig is upgraded using Tech Scrap on the Autodocs you find in different areas of the game. The Autodoc functions as a leveling and crafting station and a respawn point on death. You can get Tech Tech by killing enemies and use it to upgrade the mod points that you use to spread the three main stats.

  • Health - allows you to take more hits.
  • Endurance - allows you to perform more actions
  • Battery - allows you to cut the limbs of your enemies or use injection implants. A higher battery level increases the effect of injection implants.

When you upgrade your rig, you unlock more implant slots, boost your stats, and can equip more items.

How to get new weapons, equipment, and implants

You can get new weapons, new equipment and new implants by eliminating them from their enemies.

  • Equipment - armored and severed body parts of enemies
  • Weapons - cut off the arm that wields the weapon
  • Implants - slice up robotic enemy bodies or humanoid enemy heads to get components to upgrade implants

Cutting a piece of armor, weapon, or implant for the first time gives you the blueprint for that item, allowing you to build it. Cutting off additional pieces of armor, weapons, or implants gives you a component you need to upgrade this type of item.

The level of the component depends on the level of your enemy. Level 1 enemies drop MK.1 components, level 2 enemies, MK.2 components, etc. You then use the higher level components to upgrade your equipment from level one to level two, etc. This way, it's always worth cultivating parts of enemies you fight with.
