What is the best position for MyCareer and MyPlayer in NBA 2K20?

It seems that once again the Power Forward reigns supreme in NBA 2K20, but not for the same reasons as last year.

This time around, it's the great versatility of what you can turn into a PF build during MyCareer and, later, when you bring that player to the Parks and online.

There is a marked increase in the usefulness of stats and defensive badges in the latest version of the game. Being able to mix and match last year's hugely popular stretch of four at a height, but the mobile defender is a considerable advantage. Here's a good loadout and some tips you can aim for if you decide to play with a big player.

Best Stretch Four Build

Starting with your skill distribution, select the option where the shot has the largest part of the graph, while the other stats are equal. Then you will select the physical profile diagram where agility is prioritized, but vertical is still set to strength. This will give you a solid set of basic stats that lend themselves to the ability to shoot and open.

Then move on to your potential sliders and make sure the following categories are set with a high count.

  • Three point shooting
  • Mid-range shooting
  • Free throw
  • Post Fade
  • Pass accuracy
  • Treatment of the bale
  • Post Moves
  • Internal defense
  • Perimeter defense

You can combine the latest upgrades, but it will give you a solid foundation as your career progresses. Now when you set up your player body, here are some presets you can play around with. Just play around with the sliders until you find the mix that's right for you.

  • Height: 6'9 "- 6'11"
  • Weight: 200 lbs lower
  • Wingspan: approximately 82.0 "

Finally, the badges will be more focused on the Shooting category. There are some that you may prefer, but here are the badges you might want to invest in when you get to this point. You can decide how you want to rank each class, but it's pretty obvious that shooting badges need to be at least Silver or higher.

As you can see, priority is given to shooting, but defensive stats remain the center of attention, rather than finishing. Indeed, although Slasher has been a popular class in the past, this year it seems to have fallen. So if you prefer a defensive build that stays closer to the paint, here are a few other options.

Best Lockdown Four Build

The first change you'll make here is your skill options and your physique at the start. Instead of shooting, choose the chart that has the highest percentage of defense and bounce, followed by a balanced physical chart. You'll catch up on that balanced physical load later on, so don't worry about the strength issue.

Then it's time to pick your potential, and it's time to focus your shot - for the most part. Just ignore your three-point shot and focus on the top and bottom of the sliders.

  • A close-up
  • Stand up
  • Hook pole
  • Free throw
  • Post Fade
  • Post Moves
  • Internal defense
  • Perimeter defense
  • Bloc
  • Offensive rebound
  • Defensive rebound

Again, combine and do as you see fit, but this is just a solid foundation. Now you are back in your player's body and it is time to fall asleep so you can bring the bodies down.

  • Height: 6'9 "- 6'11" (you probably want to be on the taller end here)
  • Weight: 250 - 260 lbs
  • Wingspan: At least 90.0. "

Just like with focus and potential, the badges will be almost completely different. Focus shifts from shooting to the defensive and bouncy sections, with a few finishing badges to top it off.

This version uses a lot more badges, simply because it's supposed to do more in the field. If you want to be everywhere, this is the build for you. Grab boards, place selections, lock in defenders and score in paint - your player will be a threat on both sides of the pitch and a valuable asset to any team.

In a game with so many players who focus on three-way shots or dribbling strikes, if you want to make the biggest difference in games with random players, building Lockdown is probably your best bet.

These are just two of the many versions you can create, and while Power Forward is the most optimal position for this game, that doesn't mean that playing a different style isn't as viable. As long as you're not a Slasher, you should be good with whatever you choose.
