Among Us challenges you to kill your friends or find the impostor hidden in your party. This is a fun game about lying to your best friends and finding out who the liar is. There are impostors and teammates. Teammates have a set of tasks to complete while determining who the impostors are. Impostors are tasked with sabotaging teammates' efforts, either by killing enough teammates or by sabotaging vital parts of the ship. Even though imposters don't have tasks to do, they have to pretend to do them to avoid detection.
There are three types of tasks: common, short and long. There are also visual tasks that play an animation that everyone will see. Impostors cannot complete tasks, including visual tasks, which makes this an easy way to determine who is an impostor and who is not. Visual tasks can be disabled in the settings. Players will still have the task, but with the setting changed, the animation will not play.
Common tasks are the same for all crew members. The amount per game will vary depending on the server settings. There are only a handful of common tasks. Common tasks are:
- Magnetic card
- Secure the wiring
- Insert keys
- Scan the boarding pass
The time required to complete them varies depending on the task. Swipe Card, for example, takes little to no time, if you get the right speed on the card the first time around. The wires are attached in three parts on the board.
All players have the same common task, so you should be able to check if an impostor is not making his way to the designated area or claiming to be fixing the cables when it is not a task for everyone.
