Best MUT base running back in Madden 21

When building your Madden Ultimate Team from scratch, the first place you can look is your racing game. After all, not only does having a good running game open up your attack, it also makes you less predictable. And if you want to build that solid foundation, you'll want to have a talented return. But which backs should you look for if you are starting to build your MUT squad? Let's go over our best MUT base running backs at Madden 21.

Christian McCaffrey

At 88 OVR, Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey is Madden 21's highest rated running back (and also the most expensive). While he might not be the fastest in the game, he has decent speed (85) to go along with solid agility (89) and acceleration. McCaffrey's greatest asset, however, is his ability to be useful in both passing and running games. Considering that, it's no wonder he's one of the top five full-backs on this list.

Nick Chubb

Browns RB Nick Chubb is MUT's third-highest-rated running back, only behind Christian McCaffrey and Titans back Derrick Henry. Although McCaffrey is on this list, Henry is not, as his 6'3 '' frame is just a little too slow. Nick Chubb, on the other hand, can not only work his way through opposing defenses, but his speed advantage (85 speeds for Chubb) puts him on this list. Yes, Chubb is by no means a burner, but it can be a useful HB1 or HB2.

Dalvin Cook

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook has been a vital player for Minnesota over the past few seasons, and he can be a valuable return for your MUT team as well. Cook is Madden 21's fourth-highest-rated running back, thanks to his strong attributes of speed (84), acceleration (85) and agility (86). Cook isn't the best running back in the game, which means you might want to look the other way if you desire a fullback who intimidates opposing linebackers. But, if you want someone who can give you bursts of speed, Cook might be worth a look.

Saquon Barkley

Giants RB Saquon Barkley has a base MUT card of 82 OVR, and he has largely the same kind of attributes as Dalvin Cook. Barkley and Cook have the same attributes of speed, acceleration and agility, but Barkley leads him in the catch category. Barkley's 64 Catching attribute won't confuse him with a wide receiver, but he's decent enough for a basic running back. The 78 third-year running back's Break Tackle attribute isn't too bad either.

Raheem mostert

49ers RB Raheem Mostert might be the best bang for your buck in MUT. While his Catch (54) and Ball Carrier attributes are less than stellar, Mostert's worth comes with his speed. Mostert has solid racing attributes (86 speeds, 85 accelerations) and at 81 OVR it shouldn't cost you too many parts either. Mostert has a few flaws, but if you want a quick comeback he could be your guy.
