The Primo Geovishap in Genshin Impact is best faced with a character capable of generating shields.
The Primo Geovishap isn't too bad to fight, as long as you have someone on your team who can either generate elemental shields or use one on demand (Noelle, Xinyan, etc.). The Primo Geovishap uses a combination of slow and fast strikes and hits on the ground, although it chains up to four attacks together. These are all pretty easy to dodge, especially if you hug the boss. The Primo Geovishap will also unleash an element-infused blast of blast that deals massive damage, but it can be dodged by sprinting to either side of the Primo Geovishap as it rises up to inhale.
The most dangerous attack in Primo Geovishap's arsenal is his Primeval Shower, which sends out a powerful burst of elemental damage depending on which element Primo Geovishap uses (Cryo, Hydro, Pyro, or Electro). This attack cannot be avoided by dodging or fleeing. To mitigate it, you must have an elemental shield, although as a bonus some of the damage absorbed is reflected back to the Primo Geovishap. If your shield is made of the same element as Primo Geovishap's Primal Shower, or is a geo shield, it will deal increased damage. To put it bluntly, the Primo Geovishap Elite Boss seems to have been developed with Zhongli buffs in mind, as it absolutely destroys the Primo Geovishap.
As long as you have a full assortment of items on your team and a character capable of generating shields, you shouldn't have a problem taking down the Primo Geovishap, although a Geo character is recommended. Like the other elite bosses of Genshin Impact, it will cost you 40 Resin to redeem the rewards that appear upon death. He shares the same loot pool as other Elite Bosses, but will drop character ascension materials from any item used during battle (to include Geo). It also removes Juvenile Jade, a new exclusive resource currently used only by Xiao.
