Kill enemies to collect cubes that will power the Elemental Crucible in Genshin Impact.
Once you've unlocked the Timaeus event in Mondstadt (your journal will show you its direction once you've met the two main prerequisites), you can head to the Temple of a Thousand Winds east of Mondstadt to get started. the event. The Starfell Valley Waypoint and Temple of the Wolf are the closest fast travel points, and the event has an icon on the map that you can navigate to. Once there, talk to Timaeus, who will unlock the full event after a short dialogue.
The concept behind the Elemental Crucible in Genshin Impact is simple: you'll be up against a party of three other players, and from there you'll be tasked with taking out a constant wave of enemies for the Elemental Cubes. These cubes reflect the enemy's element slain, and catching conflicting elements will trigger an elemental reaction, much like combat. The key is to suck up similar or non-conflicting items and place them in the Elemental Crucible in the center of the arena.
Again, this event is by no means cosmic. A little caveat: when you complete the event, you won't be kicked out of the group you're in, so you or someone else can trigger the crucible for another turn. Check with your group first, or bail and partner with a new group. Additionally, the rewards for Elemental Crucible not only scale with your world level, but cost 40 Resins to trade. Yeah. . . this is another resin sink. At World Rank 4, this is a better source of Experience Books than Ley Lines per Resin spent, so you might want to reach Adventure Rank 35 if you want to maximize your rewards for your Resin.
There is also an Elemental Crucible “manual” with challenges to complete for free non-resin rewards. You can play the event and progress on it without spending any resin, so you can grind the Elemental Crucible in Genshin Impact if you want. The rewards aren't exactly grand (Experience Books, Mora, Enhancement Cores, some mid-level ascension materials, and 300 Primogems), but they are there. You can view the manual for tracking and claiming rewards from the Event menu (F5 on PC).
