How Consumables Work in Spellbreak

Loot, fight, exile… of course we all want to be in action all the time, but if we are about to die, there is a way to heal. While there are a few abilities that also heal you, consumables are the only in-game items that currently heal the player.

Consumables can be found around the map, other than Runes, Gauntlets, and Equipment, and come in two types and sizes: Health Potion and Armor Shard, Large and Small.

Consumable life

Unlike most games, when you heal yourself, the healing is not instantaneous. It's not a novelty that it takes time to consume the item (3 seconds for the small, 6 for the large), but the restore itself also takes time after completion.

While consuming the item, you can still move (albeit slowly), crouch, and remain invisible. That said, that's about it. If you get hit by a spell, cast a spell, activate a rune, or even just jump, you won't consume the item and will have to restart the timer.

Regardless of size or type, all consumables take 10 seconds for full effect.

Stacking Effects

Although you cannot drink multiple consumables at the same time, you can drink them in succession, even during the 10 second effect phases. The effects of consumables will stack and you will heal faster the more you drink.

It is worth noting that if you have a surplus of it, it may be helpful to drink more consumables than necessary to fully heal yourself, just to increase the speed of healing, as sometimes timing is more valuable than resources.
