How to beat Enenra in Nioh 2

Enenra is a tough Nioh 2 boss battle. It's a smoke and fire Yokai that will keep you on your toes throughout the fight. Because it is a Yokai of smoke and fire, you don't want to get too close to it as it will use tornadoes against you. You want to stay at a medium distance, crippling him with well-placed strikes.

Despite being a giant boss, Enenra moves exceptionally fast. You want to dodge most of his attacks while keeping a reasonable distance. If you have a weapon that uses mid-range attacks and deals ranged damage, like a spear or kusarigama, you might want to use them during the encounter. One of the first attacks you'll see using is throwing a series of bombs on the ground. You can dodge them easily and they teach you that in order to win this fight you have to walk away from it.

The downside to staying away from Enenra is that he can teleport directly behind you. You can catch him doing this when he slams his first set, which will prompt you to move forward as he reaches out with a series of holds and a kick. After these attacks, he's usually vulnerable for a little while, giving you the chance to damage him.

Every now and then, Enenra will summon bombs to suddenly appear in front of him, and you will have to dodge him. He does a brief flowering upward when he summons them, giving you a little tall head, but not too much.

When Enenra becomes a tornado, you have the perfect opening to use your gust meter to rush in and interrupt his attack. You can quickly punish him whenever he tries this on you. The Enenra does this quite often upon entering the Dark Realm, and when he first enters that Realm, he unleashes a brief tornado attack that can damage you.

One huge thing to consider at this premiere is the four pillars of the coin. If you can damage Enenra and shatter these pillars, it will dump a lot of water into them and do a good deal of damage. However, you can only do this four times during the encounter, so you should use them when they will best help you and not rely entirely on these as your only methods of winning. Because this Yokai is fire-based, you can also imbue your weapon with water to damage it further.

If you keep your distance from Enenra and wait for him to finish his combos, you should have little problem with this boss. You have to watch out for his bombs and be careful when he teleports.
