The representative is everything for the race. After all, you want to intimidate other runners, don't you? Or leave a reputation in which you are respected, even feared.
Need Heat Fast is a game that relies on Rep. The more you build, the more opportunity you have to choose new equipment for your vehicles. (Otherwise, stores won't think you're cool enough to sell.)
So if you want to build a reputation fast, here are the steps you can take.
Gain Quick Rep In Need Of Quick Heat
Night driving, anyone?
There are two times you can drive in Need heat fast - day and night. Driving during the day will help you create a "bank" that you can use to buy new items. However, it will not be of much use to you if the stores do not respect your rep.
This is where night driving comes in. When you go up against other competitors and beat them at their own game, you start to build up a great reputation. You do this by organizing illegal street races, which are on your map.
To participate in these races, choose the one you want to go with and set a route to get there. Drive your way and start building your reputation.
However, there is a catch - and also a rather elegant “risk and reward” system. And that comes with heat.
The heat is on
With every illegal street race you win, you build heat. By doing this and continuing to do each run shortly after, you get more police attention. The extra attention can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your racing skills.
If you are stopped by the police, you will lose not only your current representative, but also a small part of your bank.
But, again, risk with reward. The more you run at night, the more rep you have. Plus, you have a great opportunity to lose the cops, provided you find a ramp, a safe house, or some other place you can escape them. Now, if you have a sizable police force after you, it can get a bit trickier. But if you do achieve an epic breakout, you'll be walking (or, in this case, walking away) with a massive amount of rep.
The challenges ahead
In addition to the illegal street races highlighted on the map, you'll also want to keep an eye out for daily challenges and runner challenges. They are offered to you in abundance and will provide you with both a bank and a representative if you are successful.
By checking on the menu, you can see how many bank and rep you can earn from each. The higher the amount, the more robust the challenge. Some even ask you to "neutralize six policemen" with careful and defensive driving. But don't worry about taking something you're not ready for - it never hurts to practice first.
