Mega Man 4, video game known in the Land of the Rising Sun as Rockman 4 A New Ambition !!, is the fourth title in the popular Mega Man series.

Perhaps not everyone knows that, in the period between the publication of Mega Man IV and the previous chapter of the saga, Capcom seriously considered the idea of transporting the series to the Super Nintendo console. On Nintendo's 16-bit console, the first Mega Man arrived only in 1995 with Mega Man X.
We are in the year 20XX, one year after the events of the Gamma project and the disappearance of Dr. Wily. Dr. Light receives a strange letter, sent by an elusive Russian scientist named Dr. Cossack, who intends to send his army of robots to conquer the planet. Challenged, Dr. Light summons Mega Man from Dr. Wily's research mission and entrusts him with the task of hunting down and defeating the evil scientist.
