How to get Shiny Nidoran
While you can technically catch Shiny Nidoran throughout the year, they are extremely rare. Chances are in the thousands, with luck or extreme dedication required to find one. However, from 8 a.m. until 22 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, they will be much more common. The entire event is designed to provide players with brilliant Nidoran chances, male or female. But how do you maximize your chances?
The Nidoran Timed Research event is your best bet, offering you over 30 meetings with Nidoran in male and female form. By completing this you need to make sure you get at least one Shiny Nidoran based on the odds we see players during the event. And while the chances of a Shining Nidoran are generally increased during the event, they are even higher for those found in this Timed Research, and other research for that matter.
Special field research will also be given during the event. Given to players who spin a Poké Stop during the event while they have an open research area, these will also offer Nidoran encounters. The only one confirmed so far is to evolve a Poison-type Pokémon, which will give you a female Nidoran. However, there are more, so hit the Poké Stops and try to complete them while the event lasts.
Beyond that, the methods for getting a Shiny Nidoran in Pokémon GO during the Nidoran event are pretty much the same as usual. Check every Nidoran you see, then back off or grab it whichever you prefer. If you check enough, you should see a shiny window or two.
