How to fill the gaps on the roofs

The Downtown level can be quite a difficult level on its own in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, as it has a few park goals that can be quite difficult to achieve. These include some of the new park objectives for this release, the most difficult of which is “Completing the Rooftop Gaps”.

To complete this park objective you have to go through three rooftop spaces, but they are not at all obvious on what to do. On top of that, they can be very difficult to achieve in general. The order in which you tackle these three gaps doesn't really matter, but two of them are the ones you're going to want to do together. For the purposes of this guide, we'll leave the one gap for last.

When you start the stage for the first time, you want to go down the street you are on and take a left at the intersection. Now you want to take the next left you can, which is a shortcut through a cafe to get to the next street. Follow this street here avoiding the rabid taxis that will try to run over you. Finally, you will see a ramp in the shape of a truck that you have to climb and jump through a window to reach the rooftops.

Keep following this path until you exit to the actual rooftop and take the nearby ramp to the above ground pool search area. Go to the right side as soon as you enter and go up the ramp to gain speed, then go straight for the ramp which should be in front of you now with an arrow. If you haven't this year, the Secret Tape will also be directly in your path when you take your leap. This jump is easier said than done, so you'll probably have to use a Boneless BS to get some extra air by pressing Right + Y / Triangle. If you are able to successfully complete this jump across the gap, you will receive an onscreen notification that 1/3 is complete.

The next ramp we need to use is just to the right when you land on that new roof, but I don't recommend going straight there. Instead, I'd go around that roof and maybe ride a few rails to increase your speed, then go up the ramp. This one is going to be different, because you are doing the ground level jump here, but you have to do something special. When you do the jump you need to land directly on the grinding rail below and start grinding. Also be careful not to lose your balance as this will lose it for you. If you manage to grind the rail straight from the ramp jump and join it on the ground after, you should get the notification that you are now 2/3 done.

Our last one is going to bring us back to the initial roof again, but this time we are not going to enter the pool. Instead, you're going to turn around and smash the glass of the greenhouse and make your way to the ramp you see coming out of the roof. You want to walk across that ramp and through the windows, where you'll also see a collectable popcorn bucket if you haven't gotten it yet. As before, you can use the BS Boneless if you're struggling to get it right. Again, you also need to pass this jump to get credit for it, which should give you the 3/3. You can technically do this first, but it's the easiest of all. So it's usually best to do the others first so you can restart if you can't get them the first time.
