Best Rocket League Cars (2020)

Rocket League is still booming five years after its release, and the community is poised to grow. This is thanks to the fact that the game will become a free-to-play title later this summer, as announced by Psyonix on July 21. This means that if you are someone who wanted to experience the phenomenon known as Rocket League, but didn't want to pay the $ 20 needed to buy the full game, now you don't have to.

But if you are new to the game, what cars should you use for playing online or offline? Let's see which cars we think are the best of the best Rocket League.

Octane

If you watch Rocket League professional gameplay, you will find that most of them use the Octane car. While all Rocket League cars are (technically) standardized, meaning that no one car has an advantage over the other, many pros believe that the shape of the model, as well as the feel of the vehicle, makes a difference. 'Octane is an ideal car, and that can be for several reasons. For one thing, the Octane isn't particularly big, which, believe it or not, is a Rocket League advantage. Its small size allows it to move quickly around the field, and the car also has an ideal nose which is great for crushing balls into the goal. If you want to compete in Rocket League, this might be the car to go to.

Dominus

The Dominus model might not be as widely used as the Octane car, but this car does play a bit in the Rocket League meta. This could be attributed to its nose, which protrudes and is a bit taller than most cars, which can help you with the first touches and in beating opposing players to hit the ball. It also moves quite well on the ground, as it has solid speed and can be sailed quite easily.

'16 Batmobile

In addition to the preset cars, Rocket League has also partnered with various entities in the gaming and entertainment industries to bring the themed cars to the title. One of those themed cars is the Batmobile, which is the vehicle that Batman uses. The Batmobile in Rocket League features a sleek look, as well as a fair amount of speed. His jagged nose might not be ideal for hitting or dribbling, but other than that, there are a lot of benefits to using Bruce Wayne's signature vehicle in the Rocket League.

Venom

The Venom model may not be the same as the Octane vehicle, but it has many of the same features. Like the Octane mode, the Venom car is a smaller, more compact car that can move around the terrain very well. Additionally, the Venom has a slightly larger and flatter nose than the Octane, which could be beneficial if you prefer a wider nose. The Venom is a lot of value, and this may be the car for you if you don't like the feel of the Octane.

Ice loader

The Ice Charger has several characteristics that make it an interesting car in Rocket League. Much like the Dominus, the Ice Charger has a long, flat nose, making it a good choice for players who want to push for the first touches and those who want to beat opposing players on the keys. One of the downsides of the Ice Charger is that it's a bit beefier than the Octane and Venom, which means you'll sacrifice a bit of speed when using it in the field. Nonetheless, this car could be a great choice for strikers and law enforcement officials who want to beat their opposition.

Esper

The Esper model isn't particularly tall, but it can be a sleeper choice thanks to several other features that make the Octane a super-powered car. Like the Octane, the Esper has a sleek frame and generates a fair amount of speed. However, this model might not be the best choice for attackers given its small nose. The Esper has both its strengths and weaknesses, but if none of the cars above work for you, consider giving this model a try.

Réplique

We end our review of the best Rocket League cars with Aftershock. The Aftershock, like the Esper, Venom, and Octane, is a small vehicle that doesn't have a lot of weight, making it a solid option for field burners. But while speed is this car's specialty, hitting isn't, as its sharp, pointy nose isn't great for hitting or dribbling. Much like the Esper, this vehicle is both its strengths and weaknesses, so take that into account when choosing your car for Rocket League.
