Cannot send or receive messages with iMessage

iMessage is an app released by Apple that allows you to communicate with other Apple users. With iMessage you can send text, image, audio and video messages to anyone who has an Apple device such as an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch with an active connection or Wi-Fi. The great thing about iMessage is that it's all free!

With the update to iOS 7, many users have been experiencing problems with iMessage, in fact it may turn out unable to send a message with iMessage or unable to receive iMessage from others. How to solve this problem?

1. Activate your iMessage

If when you try to send messages to other users via iMessage, the warning appears: “Waiting for activation…“, this means that you need to activate the app.
To use iMessage with your Apple ID, go to Settings> Messages> Receive and press “Use your Apple ID for iMessage".
Then you will receive an email, check your inbox or spam box, and follow the instructions to activate your iMessage. Finally, check that your Apple ID or phone number is listed in Settings> Messages> Send and receive.

 2. Can't send messages with iMessage?

You can only send iMessages to others if they have an Apple device with iOS 5 or higher, and they have iMessage registered and activated. If not, you can only send the message via SMS.
Then check that your iMessage is active. When you update iOS to the higher version, iMessage automatically turns off. Sometimes iMessage turns off without any setting. Most people can solve the problem like this:
Go to Settings> Messages> iMessage to check it.
You can also go to Settings> Messages and activate / deactivate iMessage from there.
Check that your Apple ID or phone number is listed in Settings> Messages> Send & Receive.
Check that your iOS device is connected to the internet with Wi-Fi or 3G connection.
If the messages appear as blue bubbles, congratulations, you have solved the problem.



If you still can't send messages:
Restart the device by pressing and holding the Sleep / Wake button, moving the slide to turn off. To turn the device back on, press and hold the Sleep / Wake button until the Apple logo appears.


 3. Unable to receive iMessages from others?

If you want to receive iMessages from other users on your Mac, iPod touch, iPad, iPhone you need to meet the requirements below:
The device must be connected with Wi-Fi or Internet
IOS system must be iOS 6 or above,
Mac computer must be OS X 10.8.2 or higher
You need to sign in to your Apple ID in Settings> Messages> Send & Receive.


If iMessage is not working suddenly, reset the iOS device to fix the problem.

4. Have you deleted messages from iMessage?
