When you want to delete the data from your Android smartphone (eg Samsung Galaxy) there are two possible ways:
1. 'Factory Reset”That is reset to factory conditions, which can be done directly from the phone settings
2. 'hard ResetIe removal of all data on the device.

Factory Reset and Hard Reset have similar effects, by making a clean sweep on your smartphone, all data is erased, including third-party applications. The difference between the two modes is in terms of its association with phone settings and execution.

Performing the Hard Reset is at your own risk and may be your last option in case your smartphone freezes; in that case you need to use the volume key and the power key, unlike factory reset which can be accessed via the Settings menu.

What is the difference?

Factory Reset is associated with rebooting the entire system while hard reset is associated with restoring any hardware in the system. Here is a table explaining the difference in detail.

Hard reset is useful when:

> You want to insert a new custom ROM
> Intermittent freezes and delays occur
> You want to upgrade your hardware because you haven't done so in years
> The device freezes or becomes unresponsive and you cannot access the system settings

Note: The steps below are for a Samsung phone. For other Android phones, the steps are similar except for the hardware buttons to access the boot screen.

First of all make a BACKUP of the data present in the Samsung Galaxy

Make sure you do the first backup of your Samsung using for example MobileGO per Android.
With it you can save all device data including contacts and multimedia files, which you can then re-enter on your phone.

You will only have to download and install the program on your computer and then connect the phone via USB cable to the computer itself. As you can see in the figure below, thanks to this program it is really intuitive to manage the data on your Android device.
