Comparison between iPhone X and Galaxy Note 8: which one to buy?

Seeing as the iPhone X actually has to hit the market, all we can do right now is build on the announced features that have leaked out onto the net. Having highlighted this, let's see how these two deadly adversaries collide ...

Index

Display

The Galaxy Note 8 offers a screen with 1440p and a density of 521PPI. The iPhone X has a screen that offers 1125p and 458PPI. On this factor it seems that the display of the Note 8 wins at the table. This is due to the fact that Samsung has a much more detailed experience than Apple on the use of OLED screens, while the house is just starting to release one of the first models that makes use of such a Display. The area covered by the Note 8's display is also slightly larger. The dimensions are even larger: 6.3 inches for the Note 8 versus 5.8 inches for the iPhone X.

Camera

How is the camera? Both phones offer a dual lens camera from 12Mpx, but the Note 8 has a better opening than its opponent. The front camera of the Note 8 has 8Mpx, while the iPhone X only offers 7Mpx but in “TrueDepth” which makes it much better. We will have to wait a while on this matter, given that the iPhone X promises to be a mobile phone that has a much higher photographic and video processing process than its rivals. On paper the two seem to go hand in hand (apart from the front camera) but it is possible that the iPhone X will detach the Note 8 through its software and hardware option features.

Processor performance

How are the performances? The Galaxy Note 8 runs on a tried and tested Chipset: the Snapdragon 835 (Exynos 8895 from us). Unfortunately, this system clearly shows its limitations in the face of Apple's latest generation A11 chipset. The performances presented by the various Benchmarks are incredible and clearly tear the competition apart. The iPhone X wins without arguing in this area.

Resistance

Who is the most resistant? The Note 8, with a certificate IP68. The iPhone X is calibrated to IP67. The cell phone that is carried further among the various incidents of life is therefore the Galaxy Note 8.

RAM

How much RAM is available? The iPhone X delivers 3Gb of RAM, while the Note 8 provides the staggering amount of 6Gb. However, this amount is used differently between the two, due to the difference in the operating system. The iPhone X is designed to always run at full throttle under its 3Gb of RAM due to iOS, but Android may always need that "extra bit of RAM" found in the Note 8.

Battery

How powerful are the batteries? The iPhone X has a (rumored, unconfirmed) 2716mAh battery. In contrast, the Note 8 offers 3300mAh. A significant difference that may not count for much, given again the difference between operating systems.

Software

What does the software look like? The Galaxy Note 8 is still standing at nougat, waiting to receive an update to Oreo. Therefore at the moment the competition is higher thanks to the presence of iOS 11. The latter is the most up-to-date version of Apple's beloved / hated mobile operating system, which offers functions that completely come out of the canons set by generations of Smartphones.

Eventually, with all this information you should be able to make your choice. And let us know .. what did you choose ???
