Destiny 2 - How To Get The Recluse

Destiny 2 - How To Get The Recluse

How do I start the Recluse quest?

The journey to getting your own Recluse begins at the Tower. Talk to Shaxx and get a quest called "From Babies Mouth". This quest is pretty straightforward. If you want a Recluse, all you have to do is complete a Triumph called "The Stuff of Myth," which requires you to reach Fable rank in the Crucible and win a ton of Crucible matches. This is much easier said than done, although it has been made less difficult recently. Your winning streak will no longer fully reset after a loss, and players are penalized less for losses thanks to certain Shadowkeep changes, so moving up through the ranks is now a much smoother experience.

To achieve Fabled, you need to earn 2100 Glory Points, which means you'll need to play Crucible to progress. Right now, the only Crucible playlist that awards glory points is Survival, which pits two teams of three Guardians against each other with a limited lifespan. Survival was in a playlist along with other competitive modes like Countdown, but right now you can only earn Glory in Survival.

One of the issues players encountered when attempting to win the Recluse in previous Destiny 2 seasons was coming up against predefined player teams that would completely hit uncoordinated hike teams. With the addition of the Survival: Freelance playlist, this is no longer a problem. Players without a fireteam can queue up for the Freelance playlist and only play against other solo players, which means everyone they play with will be in the same boat as them.

What should I do after reaching legendary rank?

Once you hit Fabled, you will still need to work for Crucible Earnings to complete the other half of the quest. Hope playing Survival has already earned you a good chunk of those wins, so you should only have to play a few more games to wrap up. Otherwise, some game modes like Competitive and Iron Banner grant more progress towards completing the quest than others, but you can just kick back and play one of the more casual playlists like Control if you are tired of the competitive atmosphere.

After you have obtained all the necessary victories and reached the Fabled rank, go to your Triumphs and turn in "The Stuff of Myth" on the Crucible page under Glory Ranks. Then go talk to Shaxx and grab your well-deserved recluse. The Recluse is incredibly good in all parts of Destiny 2 from PvE to PvP due to his signature perk, Master of Arms, which increases his damage when killed. There's a reason everyone wants a Recluse, and now you've worked hard enough to have one to call your own.
