Edit YouTube videos from your computer
If you are wondering if it is possible edit a video on YouTube by applying cuts and blurs, adding music and making other changes such as inserting subtitles or information cards, the answer is yes.
To edit a video already uploaded to your YouTube channel, connected to the main page of the Google platform and, if you have not already done so, access your account by clicking on the item Log in top right. On the screen Scegli an account, click on the email address associated with yours Google account, enter the password in the field Enter your password and press pulsating NEXT.
Now, click on yours photo (or icon oflittle man if you haven't customized your account) at the top right and choose the option YouTube Studio from the menu that appears. In the newly opened page, click on the item Video present in the sidebar on the left (in the box Channel) and, if your intention is to change only the title and / or description of a movie, identify the one you are interested in, click on the relative icon of the three dots e scegli l'opzione Edit title and description give the menu to compare.
If, on the other hand, you want to apply quick changes, put the check mark next to the video you want to edit and press the button Modification appeared in the menu located at the top. Now, select one of the available options from Title, Description, Tag, Visibility, Age restrictions, Category, Post comments , Embedding, Video language etc. to make the changes you are interested in and press the button Update video per salvare i Cambiomenti.
In the Video of YouTube Studio, by clicking on the title of the movie of your interest, you can access the screen Details to make more significant changes. By selecting the tab Base, you can edit the title Description, the tag miniature and visibility of the video you want to edit.
In this section, you can also choose to make the movie "interactive" by inserting cards with the elements of your interest. To understand better, let's take a practical example: if you mention a product in your video, in the YouTube player you can show a tab that refers to another video in which you have reviewed it or add a link that refers to the purchase of the product itself. .
To do this, select the option Final screen (if you intend to add cards at the end of the video) or Cards (to choose the exact position in which to show them), click on the button Add item o Add tab, scegli l'opzione di tuo interesse tra Video o playlist, Channel, Survey e Link (to insert a link you must be a YouTube partner) and click on the relevant button Crea to customize and insert the card.
Also, by selecting the tab Advanced in the section Details, you can change the category and language of the movie (also adding subtitles), the registration date location of the video license (YouTube Standard License o Creative Commons) and, in sections Comments and ratings e Additional Options, choose whether to enable i Comments and assessments by users, whether to allowembedding video on external websites, whether to enable i age limits and much more.
If, on the other hand, you want to make cuts to the video, click on the item Editor visible in the sidebar on the left, press the button Size, move the blue indicators present in the two ends of the video to select the part of the video to be cut and click on the option Divide. In the Editor, you can also apply blurs on the faces of people that appear in your video or in areas of the video. In the first case, click on the button Add blur, and in the new screen displayed, tap on the item Modification relative all'opzione Blur faces. Then wait for the video to be processed, select the face you want to blur and click the button Save e Return to YouTube Studio per salvare I modified it.
To apply a blur to a custom area, click on the button Add blur, scegli l'opzione Modification next to the item Custom blur, select the area to blur by acting directly on the player and click on the buttons end e Save per salvare I modified it.
To edit the audio of the video, in the section Editor of YouTube Studio, click the music note visible in the timeline located at the bottom and press on the item Audio. In the new screen that appears, locate one of the royalty-free songs to use in your movie (you can listen to it by clicking the ▶ ︎ button), click the option Add to video and move the cursor present under the heading Video saturation to the right to use the chosen song as the audio of the movie, otherwise set the balance of your choice between the original audio and the newly added song. Then click on the button Save Changes to process the movie and apply the changes.
Finally, if your intention is to edit a YouTube video by adding subtitles, choose the option Transcription in the left sidebar and, if you haven't already done so, set the main language of your movie by selecting it from the drop-down menu Set language e premendo sul pulsating Confirmation.
Now, click on the option Add relative all'opzione Subtitles and, in the new screen that appears, select one of the available options from Upload a file to load the subtitle file from your computer, Automatic transcription and synchronization to insert a complete transcript of the video and automatically synchronize it with the video or Create new subtitles to manually insert subtitles. Edit YouTube videos from smartphones and tablets
If you don't have a computer available, you'll be glad to know it's possible too edit videos on YouTube from smartphones and tablets. However, using the YouTube app for Android and iOS devices, it is only possible to edit the main movie information, such as title, description and tags while using the YouTube Studio (Android / iOS) it is also allowed to apply a new thumbnail to the movie, change its comment and category settings. In no case, however, is it possible to make cuts, blurs or add songs and subtitles.
After downloading the YouTube Studio app on your smartphone or tablet, launch it by pressing its icon (the red gear wheel) and tap the buttons Start e Log in. Then choose theGoogle account associated with your YouTube channel and, if requested, insert it Password to complete the login.
Now, tap the ≡ button at the top left, choose the option Video from the menu that appears and, in the new screen displayed, choose the movie that you intend to edit. Then press the icon of pencil at the top right and apply the changes of interest to you by acting in the sections Title, Description, Privacy, playlist e Tag. To change the video thumbnail, tap on the item Modica miniature, choose the one you are interested in or select the option Custom thumbnail to choose a photo available on your device and press the button Select.

As mentioned above, using YouTube apps for smartphones and tablets you cannot make cuts, apply blurs, add music and create subtitles for videos uploaded to your channel.
