Evrima is more than an update. The island has been completely reworked. Evrima is the result. It's a whole new map, new game mechanics, new graphics and new dinosaurs. For those who are patiently waiting for Steam to launch the update, you'll need to take a more proactive approach.
How to install Evrima
Evrima is a beta update. All of The Island is a beta, but Evrima will not start the download on its own. Players will need to initiate the update themselves.
- Right click on the island in your games.
- Select Properties.
- Click on the Beta tab on the far right.
- Click on the drop-down menu
- Select Evrima
Steam will begin the update as soon as the selection is made. This is a fairly large download, so there will be a short wait. This is not Ark: Survival Evolved levels for downloads and should be done in a matter of minutes.
There is a lot of new content promised with the Evrima update. Much of it has yet to happen. Evrima is not the island players have known for a long time. Many mechanics are gone: bleeding, bone fracture, groups and more to reimplement. New features such as seamless growth, new body transport, grazing for herbivores, and more have been added as part of the game's development.
There are currently only two dinosaurs available in Evrima: the utahraptor and the tenontosaurus. The utahraptor is not new to the game, but has some new features: it cannot jump while running and will have a short landing animation. He also has a new locking ability to jump on prey.
Tenontosaurus is a new Utahraptor-sized herbivore that was not previously in the game. With a brief glance it has a back kick, tail kick, bite while running and a slap.
