Check the integrity of the Lightning port

Charging may not start due to the Lightning port damaged or full of dust. This often happens as the device is placed in a pocket or backpack, where it comes into contact with other objects (e.g. a bunch of keys).

Plug the phone into a power outlet

Between the solutions to solve the problem ofiPhone not charging from PC / Mac, we recommend that you try connecting the terminal to an electrical outlet using a power supply. Most of the desktop and laptop PCs on the market offer at least oneother USB port. So, the advice we give you is to disconnect the iPhone from the current port and reconnect it to another.

If available, use one charging port which provides more power and allows compatible devices to recharge quickly and to be charged even when the laptop is turned off. This type of USB-A input can be easily identified by the symbol of lightning placed next to it. In any case, we advise you to check the User Manual of the product as, in some cases, the symbol may be missing.

Authorize the operation of the charging accessory

iOS implements a safety function that automatically blocks any accessory connected to theiPhone (or another iOS device) to the Lightning port if it is not unlocked for over an hour. Therefore, in order to function correctly, the device must be unlocked using the recognition used (eg Face ID).
